A new race car will see the world next year, we're talking about the new BMW M4 GT4, which is scheduled to hit the track in 2018, for the racing season. It will be a replacement for the M3 GT4, which is still in use by privateer teams today. It exists only a sketch by now, there is still a lot of time to work on it but the most important is the idea, isn't it?
It's based on the regular roadgoing M4 Coupe, and this sports car will stick to the twin-turbocharged 425bhp straight-six engine of the production car, but adds the carbonfibre bonnet from the GTS, carbonfire doors, race aero addenda and a bespoke exhaust, the seats, brakes and pedal box are all carried over from the M6 GT3 racer. The new M4 GT4 will be offered alongside the range of M6 GT3 and M235i Racing, of course it will be eligible for race events in Europe, North America and Asia. It will be a high quality model, and will attract a wide target audience said the BMW Motorsport director.
